DJ Sets and Internet Radio Stations

As well as numerous sites for downloading individual tracks, there are a number of sites that specialise in making available dj sets of various artists. These sets can vary in quality considerably but it's a great way of finding out what your favourite dj is packing his record bag with and also a good way of hearing promos or new and unreleased material. There are hundreds of these sites on the 'net but below are a few of my favourites.

Internet radio stations stream music straight to your desktop and recent innovations mean that you can now create your own radio programme which plays and recommends tracks based on your own personal tastes.

Hybridized
This is one of my favourite of my favourite sites. There are plenty of sets available from artists such as
Hybrid, Way Out West, Shiloh, Andrew Kelly, Micah and Jason Dunne. Progressive house and breaks at its finest.
You can download for free but a small subscription charge gives you access to the much faster servers and an FTP ($21 p/yr).

Bijou Breaks
Another breaks oriented site with lively forums and a selection of material for download. No subscription fee.

Freshly Mixed
Huger archive of radio sets including Radio 1 Essential Mixes and Kiss100 mixes. The site also hosts member mixes.
A subscription fee is charged and can be billed over different time intervals ($25 p/yr)

Mixdepot
This is exclusively for member mixes. You're unlikely to find Sasha and Oakenfold on here but
you will find a wealth of talent trying to make it in the music world and a fine variety of dj sets
in a number of genres. Downloading is free although subscription is charged if you want to host your sets.

Live365
This site has been around some years now and provides hundreds of radio stations in any
genre you can think of. Subscription is charged for higher quality streaming but at $87 p/yr, this seems
rather expensive.

Pandora
Part of the music genome project, Pandora will tailor a radio station to your choice.
Just input the name of your favourite track or artist and let Pandora do the rest...

LastFM
Similar to Pandora with its custom radio stations and also useful in that it will provide recommendations,
based on what other people have been listening to, and create a list of artists you might like. Communities
also develop as you can register as a fan of your favourite band/artist.

BBC Radio
Here you'll find an archive of all the BBC's radio stations and programmes over the last week.
